Routine comes with a set of core default object types that form the foundation of your workspace. These objects — tasks, events, pages, contacts, and projects — are available out of the box and connect to each other natively across your calendar, agenda, and AI assistant.
☑️ Tasks
Tasks are representations of actionable information. Every task has a title and can be extended with a rich description, subtasks, labels, priorities, a project link, and an assignee.
Unlike many productivity tools, tasks in Routine are first-class objects that connect directly to your calendar, agenda, and AI workflows.
Every task can be manipulated through the following actions:
Regular tasks:

📅 Events
Events represent time-bound commitments — meetings, calls, focus blocks, and more. They have a date, time, duration, and can have multiple participants.
Routine bridges tasks and events by allowing you to block time for your most important tasks directly on the calendar. You can also take private notes on any event.
Events support the following actions:
Create — drag an area in the Calendar to create an event or meeting
Open — click the event to open it, or use
CMD/CTRL+ENTERif the event is in a listMove — drag and drop the event to reposition it in the calendar

🌀 Projects
Projects are a core default type in Routine that let you group related tasks around a shared objective.
Projects are available in both your personal space and team organizations. Every task can be linked to a project by opening the task and setting the Project relation property. Once linked, a project chip appears on the task in all views so you can always see what belongs where.
Projects support the following actions:
Create — use the
+button on the Projects screen or create directly from a taskOpen — click a project to open it and see all linked tasks and pages
Link tasks — open any task and set the Project relation property

...menuDelete — use the Delete action in the

📚 Pages
Pages let you save and organize long-term information that isn't time-bound. Use them for documentation, reference material, project notes, meeting prep, and more.
Pages are available in both your personal space and team organizations. Any task created inside a page appears in your agenda automatically.
Pages support the following actions:
Create — use the
+button on the Pages screen or create a subpage using the...menuOpen — click a page to open it

Pages can contain anything — text, media, checklists, embedded content, references to other objects, and tasks.
🧑 Contacts
Contacts represent the people you interact with over time. Routine syncs with your connected accounts (e.g. Google Contacts) to keep information up to date.
Beyond basic contact details, Routine lets you:
Take notes on any contact
Log tasks related to that person
View past meetings and interactions
Apply labels to organize contacts by context (e.g. Work, Client, Personal)
See all objects (tasks, events, pages) linked to a contact in one place
Contacts support the following actions:
Open — click a contact to open their profile
Add notes — write directly in the contact's notes section
Create tasks — add tasks linked to the contact from their profile
Apply labels — tag contacts the same way you tag tasks and events
Copy link — use the Copy Link action in the

🔗 How default types connect
All default object types are connected natively in Routine:
Tasks link to events through time blocking
Tasks link to projects through the Project relation
Pages can contain tasks that appear in the agenda
Contacts connect to events, tasks, and pages
Labels apply consistently across all object types
AI acts across all of them from a single instruction
This interconnected foundation is what makes Routine more than a task manager or a calendar — it's a unified workspace where everything relates to everything else.
